Japan Fest returns to Buxton this autumn for a full-day celebration of Japanese culture, entertainment, and food! Join us for a lively mix of traditional traditions and modern pop culture for all ages.

Highlights & Entertainment

  • Live Stage Performances: Catch performances by Japanese singer-songwriter MION, the Meian Maid Café, Gaku Shi Juku Kendo Kai demonstrations, powerful drumming from Leicester Taiko, idol performances by Sovereign, J-pop by LeLe, and traditional koto music by Aki Kitagawa. Don’t miss the Hatsune Miku tribute set by DJ Manimal & Cerisina and the colorful Cosplay Parade!

  • Interactive Activities: Try your hand at Japanese calligraphy, origami, fox mask painting, kimono try-ons, shogi (Japanese chess), and authentic Japanese tea tasting.

  • Food & Shopping: Browse a marketplace inspired by modern Tokyo and traditional Kyoto featuring quirky crafts, handmade goods, and authentic Japanese street food.
