The Octagon Hall

After a £3 million refurbishment project which was completed in 2018, returning the venue to its original Victorian splendour, the Octagon hall is the largest and grandest venue we have to offer.

This beautiful Victorian room can hold up to 1200 guests standing and up to 450 in a formal seated style.

The Concert hall, now known as the Octagon, was originally designed by the Buxton Architect, Robert Rippon Duke and was opened in 1875. Now, it’s a Grade ll listed building and one of the largest eight sided rooms in Europe.

Many different types of functions and events are held within the room throughout the year, taking advantage of the versatile nature of the Octagon. Functions typical to the Octagon include events and fairs, plays, concerts, charity events, car auctions, prom nights, award ceremonies and conferences.

The grandeur of the Octagon is difficult to appreciate until you experience it for yourself. We therefore highly recommend viewing this magnificent space. The sophistication of the Octagon adds a touch of class to any event, making for a memorable occasion.

Our Octagon features a large stage area and is adjacent to the Octagon Lounge, which offers extra space and a fully operational bar area.
